Podpage has acquired the School of Podcasting — bringing the world's best podcasting education to a much bigger audience, and we couldn't be more excited about what this means for podcasters everywhere.
A Little Background
The School of Podcasting has been the gold standard in podcasting education since 2005. Founded by Dave Jackson, one of the most respected podcast educators in the world, SoP has helped thousands of podcasters cut through the noise and actually learn the craft — from gear and recording to editing, growth, and monetization. Dave has been doing this since podcasting was just a blip on the internet's radar, and his educator-first approach is exactly what makes the School of Podcasting unlike anything else out there.
At Podpage, we've always believed that a great podcast deserves a great home on the web. But we've also heard from podcasters at every stage — beginners who don't know where to start, intermediate podcasters who feel stuck, and advanced creators trying to level up — that education is one of the biggest missing pieces in their journey.
Bringing the School of Podcasting into the Podpage family lets us solve that.
What's Changing
Education is opening up. The School of Podcasting has always been a paid membership. We're adding a free tier. Free members will get access to the SoP community, select live events, and a curated set of courses — including the new How to Podcast course (coming soon) and the full Learn Podpage course. If you've ever wanted to learn podcasting without a financial commitment upfront, now you can.
Paid members get the full experience. Paying SoP members unlock the complete course catalog, all community events, and — most importantly — access to 1:1 podcasting coaching with Dave Jackson and team. That personal coaching access is genuinely rare in this space, and we're committed to keeping it at the heart of what makes SoP special.

The curriculum is getting a full redesign. We're rebuilding the course catalog from the ground up — restructuring it into focused tracks that meet podcasters wherever they are in their journey, from complete beginners to experienced creators looking to grow or monetize. Courses will be short, actionable, and built around specific outcomes. No fluff, no filler.
Guest instructors are joining. We'll be welcoming expert guest instructors to teach courses in their areas of expertise — whether that's their podcasting knowledge, their platform, or their craft. More on that soon.
Dave Jackson Is All In
When Dave joined Podpage as Head of Podcasting in 2024, the plan was straightforward: keep the School of Podcasting separate, and carve out enough time alongside his Podpage work for him to keep building it. In practice, Podpage demanded his full attention, and SoP stayed a side project.
The more we worked alongside Dave, the clearer it became that SoP was too good to stay on the back burner. Bringing it under the Podpage umbrella was the obvious move — for the platform, for the community Dave has spent two decades building, and for Dave himself.
Now he can stop splitting his focus. School of Podcasting is no longer a side project. It's a core part of what Podpage is building, and Dave finally has the time and resources to give it everything it deserves.
One Community, Not Two
Over the past two years, Dave has been the driving force behind Podpage's community efforts — building online communities, hosting events, conducting interviews, and connecting podcasters across the platform. That work has been invaluable. But running a Podpage community alongside a separate SoP community never made complete sense.
With this acquisition, all of those community initiatives are folding into the School of Podcasting, creating one unified home for education, events, and connection. In fact, February's Podpage Town Hall was already hosted on the SoP platform — and that's exactly the direction we're headed. Going forward, the School of Podcasting is where the community lives.
