In a previous blog, I shared tips on preparing for an event. If you missed it, you can read it here.
Today, let’s talk about what to do after the conference.
First, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Conferences hit you with a firehose of information, and everyone—yes, everyone—feels this way. The key is to take a structured approach to sorting through everything you’ve learned.
If you collected business cards or connected with people digitally, take a moment to follow up. A simple message saying how much you enjoyed meeting them reinforces that you meant it when you said, “I’ll follow up after the event.” These small actions build stronger connections.
You probably walked away with a ton of ideas. Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, prioritize. Ask yourself: What’s the most important next step for my podcast? Then, review any tools or people you discovered at the event and focus on the ones that can help you achieve that goal first.
Remember the old saying: How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Apply that mindset here, and you’ll turn post-conference chaos into meaningful progress.
